- Abstract
The article presents several abstracts of various manuscripts published in the April 1981 issue of the journal "Quality and Quantity." The article "Labor-Consumption Accounting (LCA): A Suggestion for a Household-Oriented National Accounting System," starts with a short evaluation of reform suggestions concerning the currently used system of national accounts. In contrast to the usual market-oriented measurement of this system, the authors introduce a social profit-and-loss calculation for the private household sector. In LCA the economic process is seen as a labor-trading process. Consequently the reproduction of real capital is replaced by the reproduction of labor. Another article "The Structure of Occupational Inequality," analyzes the inter-relationships among the requirements, resources, and rewards of occupational positions in order to construct a preliminary account of the structure which underlies the process of individual attainment. The article "Schooling Processes and Educational Outcomes in France," analyzes data derived from a longitudinal study of a cohort of French pupils for the period 1962-1972. The authors of the article document the direct and indirect effects of father's occupation, academic performance, significant others' influence, and sex, on years of educational attainment.
