- Abstract
Species richness is not a hidden cause in the SZC model GLS also claimed that species richness information is silently being used by the SZC causal model. We also found that the Standard causal model and GLS's alternative models contain elements that GLS claim invalidate the SZC model, and that causal inference theorems show that they are not functional representations of BEF experiments (Appendix S4). Schoolmaster et al. (2020; SZC) proposed a general and actionable framework for the trait-based management of ecosystem function in natural systems.
