- Abstract
The article argues the existence of the logical resolution in the clashes between Puntland and Somaliland in the legal mechanisms of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in solving disputes on international border, particularly uti possidetis. It explores the territorial history of Somalia, and the introduction of quasi-states and treatment within the international community. It adds the legal regime used by the ICJ in solving border disputes, specially under the doctrine of uti possidetis.
