- Title
A discovery of an early Peter De Wint oil painting: With a consequential reattribution of works claimed by Jules Dupré.
- Authors
Matsuda, Andrew
- Abstract
The article focuses on the discovery of an oil painting by artist Peter De Wint as supported by the existence of a study by the artist and a lithograph by French artist Jules Dupré. The author supports his claim with observations of the painting and historical evidence which suggests that De Wint may have been visited by Dupré as at this time Dupré would have been a student in England and De Wint a well known watercolor landscape teacher.
