- Abstract
The article presents a study to determine the safety and efficacy of preoperative chemotherapy followed by extended surgery in the management of locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma. The study includes patients with gastric cancer with extensive lymph node metastasis given chemotherapy and who underwent gastrectomy. However, due to the three treatment-related deaths when 55 patients had been enrolled, the study was terminated.
