- Title
Mormonism in Western Society: Three Futures.
- Authors
Gedicks, Frederick Mark
- Abstract
The article presents a speech by Frederick Mark Gedicks of Brigham Young University, delivered at Southern Virginia University on April 8, 2011. It discusses the future relationship between the Mormon Church and Western society at large. Particular focus is given to fundamentalism, social conservatism, and assimilation. It is suggested that of these attitudes, an assimilationist approach will allow the Church the most growth in the West but may ultimately diminish its attractiveness.
