The article reports on the recommendation by National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) to use the low-energy Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) developed by Spectrum Technology UK Ltd. in Great Britain in 2010. It mentions that NICE review showed that ESWT is considered a safe treatment option for Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonopathy and Tennis Elbow. It also highlighted some of the clinical evidence on its use is inconsistent due to randomized controlled trials.
