- Abstract
The performance of the output for the region denominated Central Plateau during 1993-2008 is presented. We found that the Central Plateau is an economic space that is going through a restructuration process which consequences have different manifestations amongst the states that conform the region. The Federal District, Mexico's capital, has lost impulse due to an untidy adjustment process and the State of Mexico is becoming the mayor economy in the Central Plateau and extenuates the deceleration of the country's capital. Meanwhile, Queretaro, Puebla and, in less extent, Hidalgo have changed gradually their productive systems in order to adapt to the conditions of national and international markets, and Tlaxcala and Morelos have dynamics associated with their vicinities and showed small growths during the period.
