- Abstract
This article provides strategies for jumping rope for children with visual impairments. It stresses the importance of giving choices related to the types of rope and the use of mats. It notes that using appropriate instructional strategies and modifications will make jumping rope a skill that the children will enjoy and will lead to their involvement in other physical activities. In addition, the article indicates the benefits of jumping rope to children with visual impairments, including improved levels of motor skills, socialization and self-concept.
