- Abstract
The article discusses three strategies that the teachers can use to promote young children's successful interactions with informational science texts. There are three stages that have been included in the steps; before reading, while reading, and after reading. Before reading, the teacher may use Preview-Predict-Confirm method as it could activate and build students' background knowledge and relevant vocabulary prior to reading. She may ask students to view the section of a science textbook before plunging into real discussion. While reading, she may use the Ten Important Words strategy that could allegedly engage students with a text and with peers. After reading, the students may be then asked to compose essays or poems to convey what they have learned in the course of studies. INSET: Using PPC for Assessment in School Grade: A Scenario..
