- Abstract
Biopsies around blood vessels, nerves, and joint spaces may spread tumour cells through bleeding during and after the incisional biopsy, possibly compromising outcome. Treatment of malignant skeletal tumours, up to the 70 s in the last century, was amputation. The incisional biopsy in skeletal tumours may compromise the outcome by enlarging the surgery field contaminating healthy tissue.
