- Title
Australians take technology to Tokyo.
- Abstract
The article reports on the bid of Australian firm Delkor Rail to enter into the Japanese market with its so-called Cologne eggs, a rubber and cast iron base plates designed to absorb vibration and control noise. The technology has been used to solve the noise problem at the Sydney Harbour bridge. Dekor Rail General Manager George Stamboulis hopes that a small trial contract to upgrade a rail bridge in Tokyo using an updated version of the Cologne egg will give them a break.
