- Title
SAME OLD INSTRUMENT SAME OLD TUNE? CRITICAL PERSPECTIVES ON THE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE PROVISIONS IN THE ASSOCIATIONS INCORPORATION ACT 1981 (QLD).
- Authors
EGERT, GEOFFREY
- Abstract
The article scrutinizes the provisions in the Associations Incorporation (AI) Act 1981 relating to public liability insurance. It explains the former statutory position and the current statutory position of the Act and infers that the current statutory regime does not adopt a self-regulatory approach similar to legislation on Australian associations' incorporation. It concludes that the provisions of the public liability insurance regime for associations incorporated in the AI act is not based on sound policy and is simply an anachronism.
