MALAWI: Damning Graft Report.
- Abstract
The article reports that the British accounting firm Baker Tilly conducted a forensic audit into the plunder case of the Malawi government, and uncovered that over 30 million U.S. dollars was looted by politicians, business persons and civil servants. Particular focus is given to how the scandal unravelled in September 2013 after the attempted assassination of Finance Ministry Budget Director Paul Mphwiyo. It also discusses the protests on the streets of Blantyre, Malawi on February 27, 2014.
