Wedding photography has developed over the years as a communicative practice that is highly influenced by constructed situations which viewers typically interpret as reality. While photographs are often considered to be the sole creations of specific individuals, aided by a progression of technological developments, styles have evolved from a variety of sources and their endurance influences the social construct of the wedding itself Historical photographs and interviews with photographers inform this study of the evolution and influence of wedding photography.
