- Abstract
The article presents a study on the aspects of balanced student participation in college classes. The authors examine the effects of a randomized participation credit on the percentage of students participating in college general education classes. They mention that the amount and quality of class discussion depends on the issues being studied in the general education course. They state that their research suggests relationships between the quantity of students' participation and the level of critical thinking.
