The article reports that he number of people being admitted to hospital from emergency departments because of dog attacks has risen by 43 percent over four years, according to figures released in February 2008. The number of children and young people hospitalised after dog attacks has risen by a 20 percent, while the number of patients over 18 years has increased by 58 percent. The statistics were published by the Liberal Democrats, who are calling for a review of legislation concerning dangerous dogs.
