- Authors
Gilmore, Stephanie
- Abstract
The article describes a March, 2011 student demonstration at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania protesting sexual violence and the college's handling of sexual assault allegations on the campus. The protest followed a 2009 demonstration on similar topics. Students involved in the 2011 protest felt that the college's administration was not moving quickly enough to meet student demands and create transparency in policies and procedures. Topics discussed include coalition-building, the relationship between academia and activism, and the prevention of sexual violence.
