- Abstract
The article reports that the prison population in the U.S. has fallen by small percentages in recent years. The 2014 U.S. Census population projection estimates that 37 percent of the prison population is African American, 32 percent is white, and 22 percent is Hispanic. The authors used a framework to test for bias in the degree of prediction as a function of race and functional form of prediction as function of race.
