- Abstract
Objective: To analyze the registration for location and characterization of people with disabilities in relation to the frames of reference. Methodology: descriptive, cross sectional study developed between 2009-2010 at Universidad de Boyacá, which included the application of registration in the municipalities of the Department of Boyacá and subsequent interpretation of information, with content analysis and descriptive statistics. The latter was made based on data supplied by the National Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, for the 123 municipalities of Boyacá (42,705 records), called "Registry Analysis for Locating and characterizing people with disabilities, in relation to the frames of reference in the Department of Boyacá". Results: The distribution of registration questions are focused on identifying the characteristics corresponding to the frame of basic social protection with 58.42%, which is centered on survival, protection and affection; with 38.20%; as a second instance, the compensation and social cohesion is placed, and finally, equality local development appear with 3.37%. Similarly, it is observed that the prevalence of people with disabilities are female over 60 years, located in dispersed areas with low educational levels and scarce labor and social participation. Conclusions: It was noticed that most questions containing the registration, belong to the frame known as basic social protection which seeks to understand the people's social-demographic, functional and health characteristics.
