- Title
OFTEN PERSONAL RIGHTS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DWARF SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.
- Authors
Stevens, Dennis
- Abstract
This article explores the question of middle class student rights at the secondary level. It offers three examples of school activity which suggest that subject matter is secondary to presentation and that students tend to demand fulfillment of their individual rights more than to fulfill their social obligations. There is a hint that inappropriate behavior is coddled which tends to shape personal future decisions in our global society. Positive parental involvement, teacher professionalism, and student responsibility are called upon to advance our secondary system.
