- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigates the epidemiology of the ward at Pescara civic hospital in Italy and examines the recurrent resistance phenotypes in nosocomial environment. Researchers insulated a Geotrichum (G.) capitatum from leukemia patient's sputum with no signs of pneumonia. The study reveals that G. capitatum still stays an uncommon yeast in the nosocomial setting, but its capacity of acquiring multidrug resistance is of disturbing concern.
