- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the potential of biomass and nitrogen to increase more species-rich plantings simultaneously vegetated a salt marsh restoration site. Testing of the hypothesis using randomly chosen, 6-species plantings is noted. Results include the increase in root and shoot biomass with species richness, the difference in the functional capacity of individual species, and the efficacy of manipulating the richness and composition of plantings.
