- Abstract
The article presents chapter Three of the book "Year's Work in English Studies" which discusses the nature and direction of the discipline of medieval studies. It explores the essays from medievalists in which leading contemporary exponents of medieval scholarship have reassessed the significance and nature of the seminal figures' work in the field. It says that the book "Images of Faith in English Literature, 700-1500: An Introduction," by Dee Dyas introduces guide to all aspects of medieval religious belief. It adds that "Edward II, 1307-1327," by Mary Saaler provides introduction to the life and reign of the monarch.
