- Abstract
The article presents a case study of an old man with medical history of myocardial infarction who presented to a hospital with increasing right-sided chest pain after falling off a ladder. Topics discussed include computed tomography (CT) scan demonstrating a contained rupture of a penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer in the descending thoracic aorta, penetrating aortic ulcers tend to occur in elderly patients with a history of atherosclerosis, and blunt thoracic trauma causing the rupture.
