- Abstract
Herybert Menzel (1906-1945) was ranked among the most famous poets of the Nazi-era. Already In 1930, he achieved his first literary success with his anti-Polish and racist novel Umstrittene Erde. Strongly influenced by the quarrels between German and Polish people in the region of his birth, Posen, Menzel became the epitome of those authors who knew how to transform Nazi-ideology into propagandistic slogans suitable for the masses.
