- Abstract
The article reports the expansion of Virginia Chemicals Inc. of Portsmouth, Virginia. The Virginia company is expanding the sodium hydrosulfite output of two of its formate process plants. The expansion is scheduled for mid-1984. Virginia Chemicals produces organic and inorganic chemicals for textiles and water treatment and for agricultural and other areas of industry. Virginia Chemicals' market position is enhanced by ready access to sodium formate and sulphur dioxide, which are products of Virginia. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Celanese.
