- Abstract
The article discusses several predictions on the American lifestyle for the 1970s made by The National Industrial Conference Board Inc., and its relevance to the textile industry. Projections made include that Americans will continue to become better educated, incomes will increase, and the number of women in the workforce will rise. The author explores these predictions and ends off with some of his own, including that the U.S. textile industry will increase its emphasis on research and development, a drop in companies doing business in the U.S. textile industry, and the production of a wide range of new products.
