Humanism is an Existentialism: Renaissance and Vichian Legacies in Italian Philosophy between Hegel and Heidegger.
- Authors
Rubini, Rocco
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the "Italian" difference in philosophy until the rise of the "Franco-German reflection on being human" in circa (c) 1947. It states that the author cites the insights of thinkers that exemplify Italian idiosyncrasies after World War II including Nicola Abbagnano, Enrico Castelli, and Eugenio Garin. It also mentions that the reconnection of the thinkers can amount to a useful and much needed "presentism" in Renaissance scholarship and historical awareness in philosophy.
