- Abstract
The article reflects on how knowledge about indigenous peoples in Ecuador is produced in the books "Dilemmas of Difference: Indigenous Women and the Limits of Postcolonial Development Policy" by Sarah Radcliffe and "Huaorani Transformations in 21st Century Ecuador: Treks Into the Future of Time" by Laura Rival. It explores the place of this knowledge in Western conceptions of development aid, protection and improvement. The use of the concept of interculturality in Ecuador is also discussed.
