- Title
DSEK may be viable for patients with partial or complete aniridia.
- Authors
Pagnani, Michelle; Price, Marianne O.
- Abstract
The article focuses on a study regarding the viability of descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK) for patients with partial or complete aniridia. Lead author Anthony J. Aldave urges corneal surgeons to consider DSEK when dealing with previous penetrating keratoplasty, aniridia and previous glaucoma surgery. Aldave notes that the modifications to DSEK address the abnormal compartmentalization of the eye in the chambers. Aldave recommends DSEK for its safeness over keratoprosthesis.
