- Abstract
A mare was presented with inappetence, oligouria, constipation and lethargic since a day. Clinical examination showed slightly congested conjunctival mucous membrane and watery fluid oozing out from legs at the junction of coronet area. Haematology revealed relative neutrophilia while other parameters were within normal range and blood smear examination revealed presence of microfilaria. It was further confirmed and identified by Knott's technique as Setaria species by morphometric study and presence of outer sheath. Single dose of Doramectin @ 200 mg/kg b. wt. was able to cure the microfilarial infestation and proved to be effective.
