- Title
NHS plan at risk from staff shortages.
- Authors
Kendall-Raynor, Petra
- Abstract
The article reports that a forecasted shortfall of 250,000 staff by 2030 could be a major risk to the National Health Service (NHS) long-term plan. Nursing vacancies pose as one of the greatest challenges. Three health think tanks suggest the shortfall figure could grow by 100,000 after Brexit. There are said to be increases in the number of young nurses leaving the NHS. It is said that the expansion in the nursing training pipeline of 10,000 additional nurses has not materialised.
