- Authors
Morris, Amy
- Abstract
The article discusses reasons for abnormal coagulation, conditions that increase patient's risk for bleeding from interventional procedures, coagulation parameters and common methods to modify the hemostatic system. It states that the use of laboratory assays can help physicians determine whether a patient is at risk for severe bleeding following an interventional procedure. It notes that below normal range of platelet count and lab results are indicators of increased risk of bleeding.
