Reports on the efforts of the Humane Society of the U.S. for providing veterinary assistance and animal rescue in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana. Initiative of the organization for collaborating animal relief and rescue efforts and for supporting local animal welfare organizations; Professions of the members in the organization; Value of funds allocated by the American Veterinary Medical Association to solicit monetary donations for a fund established by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation in helping disaster relief efforts in the states affected by the hurricane.
