- Authors
Snart, Jason
- Abstract
The article focuses on watercolor designs illustrated by poet William Blake for Edward Young's poem "Night Thoughts". The author stated that Blake used repetitive set of characters and symbols but his repetitiveness can be seen as revision and re-vision. He used images of Newtonian impulse and compass which seem to be reused from his recent works. The editors of the book "William Blake's Designs for Edward Young's Night Thoughts," stated that the project involved personal enthusiasm of Blake as he was aware that it would take years.
