- Abstract
The article discusses the collaborative undertaking between clinicians from Mount Vernon Hospital and radiobiologists from the Gray Laboratory both in Northwood, England in 1984 on the development of Continuous, hyperfractionated and accelerated radiotherapy (CHART). CHART is the radical form of accelerated radiation treatment. It lessens tumor clonogen proliferation and risk of late normal tissue complications. Furthermore, its design was based on the novel radiobiological rationale.
