- Abstract
The article reports on an investigation conducted by the Bank of England in March 2013 into loan forbearance provided by major banks of Great Britain to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Topics discussed include forbearance of more than 5,000 companies having turnover of less than 50 million pounds, weak labour productivity among SMEs, and impact of the forbearance on the country's economic development. Several graphs and charts depicting the same are also presented.
