- Abstract
The article cites a number of provisions that can be found in the book "Framework for the Bank of England's Operations in the Sterling Money Markets," or known as the Red Book. These provisions are allegedly useful in stressed or extraordinary conditions. One provision states that the Bank can raise the ceilings on the reserves targets which reserves banks are allowed to set. Another provision provides that the Bank can also widen the range around reserves targets.
