- Abstract
An editorial is presented on alveolar ventilation and carbon dioxide removal. Topics include patients with end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease not much limited by hypoxia; and during prolonged hypoventilation the volume of carbon dioxide slowly accumulating in the body exceeding the amount present in the blood and interstitium.
