- Abstract
In this article the author discusses aspects of a report by the U.S. Interagency Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Coordinating Committee that found greater effort is needed to understand the link between the environment and breast cancer. She discusses the cost of breast cancer treatment, evidence that suggests many breast cancers are preventable, and the Committee's recommendation for a coordinated research effort between federal, state, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
