- Abstract
The article focuses on the practice and law of protection and indemnity (P&I) insurance focusing on the liabilities from primary marine pollution occurrences. It discusses contractual arrangements, legal structure, and history along with the roles of their representative industry body, which is the International Group of P&I Clubs. It also tackles the characterization of the limitations and reinsurance arrangements of the group and laws for rights of direct action over liability insurers.
