- Abstract
Urban Planning in a Historical Perspective The history of urban planning is traced back to the ancient human civilization (Kitie [36]); however, the types, standard, and quality of urban planning have been showing divergences in spatiotemporal perspectives (Mareggi [40]; Kim [35]; Desta [17]). Urban Planning Activities in Ethiopia The priorities placed on urban planning activities vary from country to country mainly dictated by urban policy practices of the respective countries. Physical Development and Planning Experiences in Arba Minch: an Overview Arba Minch is different from many urban centers of Ethiopia by its urban planning and implementation experiences. Incompatible and Missed Land Uses in Structural Plan of Arba Minch Town One of the very critical problems that can be noticed in the preceding discussions in relation to urban planning in Arba Minch was the preparation of the town's plan by experts in urban planning and the negligible involvement of the local community.
