- Abstract
The article presents a detailed description of the flora and vegetation of the West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon, Coconino County, Arizona. The Interior Chaparral vegetation type is for the most part restricted to central Arizona. Pinus ponderosa is the most common tree in the Pine Series of the Rocky Mountain Montane Conifer Forest type. In Arizona, the Mixed Conifer Forests are found in canyons, north and east facing slopes of the Kaibab Plateau, and on the high elevation mountain slopes.
