- Abstract
This article describes the Magnet System coating machine developed by J. Zimmer Maschinenbau GmbH for technical textiles. The Zimmer coating program is based on three main pillars: Magnoroll, Variopress and Twincoat. The Magnoroll concept consists of a central magnetic roll which can be equipped with one or several magnet systems. The Magnoroll application types comprise the RS-System with rotary screens the GMA-System with direct roller application and the Magnoknife-System with knife doctor. Different vertical Twincoat applications are possible according to requirements with or without the original Zimmer Magnet System Plus. With the technology, polyvinyl chloride applications and lacquer applications in working widths up to 540 centimeter can already be carried out in practice. The fabric material can be densely woven or can be lattice structure material. The Variopress foam application units are equipped with adjustable splined-roll drives. The quantity of foam applied and the depth of penetration into the material are mainly determined by the speed of the splined rolls. These technologies are preferably deployed for foam application on nonwovens, technical textiles, furniture materials and carpets.
