Abstract
The article presents the history of India's renowned Mysore silk sari, which is turning a century old in 2012. Topics discussed include the 100 years of existence of the T Narasipure factory of Karnataka Silk Industries Corp. Ltd. (KSIC) where the sari is woven, the huge role that Mysore silk plays in the grand south Indian sari tradition, and the most popular Mysore silk, the crepe sari, which is described to have an excellent fall as a result of the number of the cloth's twists.
