The article presents an interview with anthropology professor Lionel Tiger regarding the declining number of the male population in the United States. Tiger comments on the increasing competition between men and women; expectations on the capability of women to surpass men in economic and social status, the significance of a father in a family and in society; and the contribution of welfare to the alienation of men.
