Shell tubules in Condylocardiinae (Bivalvia: Carditoidea).
- Authors
Malchus, Nikolaus
- Abstract
The article discusses a study on shell tubules in Condylocardiinae, which belongs to the microbivalve family Condylocardiidae. The shells of three Condylocardia species compared to Cardita calcyculata, Adacnarca limopsoides and Striarca lactea are examined. The study observed that shell tubules in Condylocardia reflect mantle cell extensions and that the similarity of shell tubules in Condylocardiidae and Carditidae supports their phylogenetic relationship.
