- Abstract
The article seeks to analyse the phenomenon of Slovenian regionalisation (province) and the names of individual regions, which are still part of the heritage and identity of individuals living in the areas of each region (province). What are the reasons for the formation of the names? Common sense is that province expansion refers to all measures to improve and standardise a specific area's legal and economic structure. Economic and legal reasons dictated the name; the name was only an address for the recipient of economic and legal privileges (rights). In other words, the expansion of the province (region) concerned the "constitution" of a country in the double sense of "being legally ordered" (legal culture) and "actually being composed" (administrative culture).
