- Abstract
The article discusses how the compliance requirements for non-European Union (EU) firms under the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) violate the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS). Also cited are the GDPR's aim to ensure the rights of privacy of people, the GATS' goal to protect trade in services, and how GDPR is a non-tariff barrier (NTB) to trade.
